Improving pets' lives through compassionate care and education

At Livermore Country Pet Hospital 'compassionate care' means
acting as advocates for the animal in a pet-friendly environment.
As advocates for the animal, our duty is to make recommendations
regarding medical care or lifestyle, that are appropriate to the
individual pets needs. We do our best to use vocal cues and body
language to put animals at ease, and recommend "better living
through  chemistry" (appropriate sedation) for our patients when
we believe a procedure, such as taking an x-ray, would be too
traumatic for that particular pet otherwise. We much prefer
being the "yummy treat givers" to being the "bad shot people".

One of our primary goals is client education. We want people to
leave at the end of each visit with more knowledge and a better
understanding of their pet - its behavior, emotional and physical
needs and of its medical status - than they had when they arrived.
Our pets have a different way of perceiving the world than we do,
and they have needs that we, as owners, may fail to understand. At
Livermore Country Pet Hospital we work to help owners bridge the
gap between human and companion animal, thereby strengthening
    the human-animal bond.
Helping extraordinary pets live extra-ordinary lives.
